HOW TO BECOME AN INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEER?
Your step-by-step guide to volunteering abroad. It is easy and affordable to volunteer in Zanzibar.
We’re here for you from start to finish. Here’s an overview of what you can expect from us – and what you need to do next to join your fellow volunteers!
Follow these simple steps to apply and secure your place to volunteer abroad with International Volunteers.
HERE’S HOW EASY IT IS:
1. GO TO PROGRAMS
2. SELECT A PROGRAM & APPLY
3. PERSONAL & BILLING DETAILS
4. COMPLETE PAYMENT AND SECURE YOUR PLACE
To ensure the safety and full support to all volunteers, we are always available to support everyone even with a scheduled online meeting. Our application process is thorough our website only. All payment is online. Feel stuck? We’re here to help! WhatsApp us or email us on [email protected]
All of our volunteer programs include your accommodation, 3 meals, volunteering permit, transport from and to airport, daily transport to your project, 3 tours – Stone Town Tour, Spice Tour and Prison Island which is organized for you by our knowledgeable project coordinators.
As soon as you know which project program you want to join, you need to apply online. We recommend applying as soon as possible, as many of our project programs have limited capacity. Please check the dates which you will be arriving in Zanzibar in your billing payment checkout.
To secure your place on your chosen project program, you need to pay accordingly to the number of weeks. All weeks have an additional free 2 days. The project program fee includes a registration fee of $300 (non-refundable).
Registration Fee + Program Fee (Depending on the number of weeks you’d like to stay) = Total Program Cost includes 5% bank charges.
Your fee covers:
1. All your pre-departure support as well as an online meeting or chat with us directly through WhatsApp.
2. Interactive pre-departure volunteer information on getting prepared, safety, understanding different cultures and being a responsible volunteer.
3. Your Volunteer Guide and Preparation Checklist, which outlines what to expect from your program and how to prepare.
4. Pre-departure support from your Program Manager who will take care of the planning for your program to make sure it all goes smoothly.
5. Convenient add-ons available exclusively to registered volunteers, including weekend excursions/tours.
6. Free International Volunteers T–Shirt.
7. Your Program Manager will reach out to welcome you. You will be introduced to your program coordinator who will be with you during your program and on tours.
Any extra activities and tours can be discussed prior your departure or upon your arrival. International Volunteers operates its own Local Tours which supports all its programs.
Complete your personal and billing information.
Once you have paid and secured for your place, a program manager will be in-touch to discuss the project with you. You will be requested to send your passport copy and flight tickets, through our WhatsApp number or e-mail. A health declaration including dietary form will be sent to you.
VOLUNTEERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
There is no doubt that the world today is in desperate need for human collaboration to try to maintain balance and a fair distribution of resources. One cannot simply argue against the fact that there are a lot of impoverished communities in the world that lack the simplest, most fundamental means of living and have no access to education, healthcare, food or even shelter.
