“Volunteering is not only a process of giving.”

It is rather a process of exchange. We have much to learn from the communities that we aim to support.

One of my personal aims for International Volunteers is to empower women and young girls with the access to education because that is a primary too for empowerment.

It is an honor to be part of International Volunteers team to help facilitate compassion towards fellow human beings and to encourage intercultural experiences. Growing up in a multi-cultural background I learned to respect and value the complexity of human diversity. There is much to be appreciated and celebrated about the intercultural learning process. I believe that volunteering abroad will significantly help to develop emotional intelligence as well as integrate soft skills needed to bring our societies forward.

Aysha is an architect and currently a Doctoral Researcher at the RWTH Aachen University, Germany.

“I strive to get out of my comfort zone.”

Mohamed has been volunteering abroad since 2008, helping communities – a community of global citizens and fellow humans. Volunteering abroad has had a profound impact on him. It has changed the way he viewed travelling abroad, global challenges and even his own future. It has given him a purpose to encourage and create a platform for other people to volunteer abroad through International Volunteers. “To experience a better understanding of how we are capable of making a difference, and how our lives become richer when we work together and empower each other towards positive change and global impact.”

“Be open mind-minded and respectful – you still have so much to learn from others.”

I believe we are all here to do something, to make some sort of change. What motivates us is different, but we are all here to make something better for others. What we choose to do is up to us and depends on the chances we are given.

When you are away from home, you are constantly experiencing things that are different than what you are used to. Some situations and actions that you might find strange or even incomprehensible. I believe these exposures are the greatest opportunity for you to learn something new and broaden your own perspective on life. I believe that cultural differences enrich rather than limits us. Be open minded and respectful – you still have so much to learn from others. Aysha is also the founder of Mamy Aysha Academy. She is famously also known as Mamy Aisha.

“Your life has a purpose, your story is important, your voice matters, you were born to make an impact.”

Ash has been taking pictures most of his life. He started taking pictures when he was in school after his father bought him a small camera. Volunteering, coupled with his passion for photography, made it possible to accumulate an extensive galley of work from around the world.
