International Volunteers provides highly affordable programs and our application fee is amongst the lowest, as a result we do not provide a complete refund policy. Please read the details of application and program fee payments below.

Application fee is refundable up to only 30 days before the program start date. Refund requests must be received thirty (30) days prior the program start date through written confirmation via email. Upon receipt of the request the volunteer will be notified immediately via email. If the volunteer does not receive confirmation, they should assume that the request has not been received or the email has not yet been read.

The application fee FOR EXAMPLE amount of USD$950 would be refunded less the administration charges of USD$300 which would cover bank charges and currency conversion charges. If you change your program start date, then the date considered for refund purpose would be the earliest date indicated by you in your application.

Note:

1.    No refund of Application Fee would be provided if you apply for a program within thirty (30) days of program start date, irrespective whether Booking Confirmation is provided or not.

2.    No refund of Application Fee would be provided once the Booking Confirmation is provided to the volunteer. The Booking Confirmation is sent to you via email.

Under the rare instance where International Volunteers is not able to accept you in the program, we would be refunding you the application fee less USD$300 administration charges.

You will know the complete program costs once a program has been announced in any of our social media pages or on the website. International Volunteers reserves the right to change the program fee anytime without any prior information. All program fee are due 30 days from your program start date, if you fail to make your program fee payment before this time International Volunteers has the right to cancel your program.

International Volunteers needs to get cancelation requests at least 30 days before your program start date. International Volunteers incurs a lot of charges in order to provide suitable program to our volunteers.

Our Cancellation Policy for All Programs Is:

1.    If you cancel 30 days before your program start date – 70% refund of program fee (less $300 admin charges) – No Refund of Application Fee.

2.    If you cancel between 29 – 19 days before program start date – 50% refund of program fee (less $300 admin charges) – No Refund of Application Fee.

3.    If you cancel within 18 days of your program start date – No Refund of program fee – No Refund of Application Fee.

4.    Cancellation after program start date – No Refund of program fee – No Refund of Application Fee.

Incase International Volunteers has to cancel your program due to certain operational reasons; International Volunteers will refund part of the remaining time period of the project fee calculated on a pro-rata basis excluding the application fee of US$950 and 7% (seven percent) bank charges. 
If your program is cancelled by International Volunteers due to any uncertain natural calamities (for example – earthquake, floods, typhoon, cyclone, tsunami etc.) your Program & Application fee would not be refunded under such circumstances.
International Volunteers has the right to cancel any placement of an enrolled volunteer before start date.

International Volunteers will refund the applicable refund amount to volunteers within 60 (sixty) days of confirmation of cancellation.
International Volunteers would not provide any compensation whatsoever for any of its programs.

International Volunteers adds a 5% international banking fee, which is charged at the time of online payment.

You agree that you would abide by the rules and regulations set out by our organizations in the home country. If we find your behavior unsatisfactory due to drugs, alcohol, stress, abuse or a medical condition. Your program would be terminated under the following conditions:

1.    If we find that you are engaged in any illegal activities or convicted of any criminal activities before or during the project period.

2.    If it is believed that any of your action or behavior is threatening or unacceptable to the society or anyone involved with the project based on the judgment of the project staff and/or the in-country coordinator. 

3.    Any information provided by you to International Volunteers during the time of enrollment is incorrect. 

4.    You voluntarily decide to opt out of the program in between. 

5.    If you are found taking drugs or using such material while in the project. 

6.    If you are found to be engaged in sexual behavior while your stay in the host country. 

7.    If you do not observe the Code of Conduct in your host country. 

8.    In case the agreement is terminated due to any of the above reasons or reasons relating to the above, you will not be entitled to any refund from International Volunteers.
